Missing My You (General Grief)

Arms open wide

Sweep to infinity

Reach out east

Reach out west

Across the girdle of the earth

Searching

For you

Up and down the curve of the moon

North to South

Across oceans

and

The darkest corners

of earth

Lost

in dreams

I stagger

Naked

Legs melting

I see fragments of you

Slipping through light

Tears cast a million shards of glass

Into heart

A million breaks

apart

The world

Shadow veiled

Birds mime their rhyme

Through blurred space

but

These ears deaf to beauty

Eyes closed to bragging life

Every love symbol

haunts

where senses go

Street

Train

Cafe

Song

Face

I hate them,

love, hate, love, hate, love

Only

Because

they have

and

I have not.

The agony of absence

Acid drips into open wound

Vulnerability stripped

and tripped

Face flat into void

And the world has a million dark places

Your light could heal

I miss you dearly

The pain is such

I see you clearly

I feel your touch

I miss you, daily

And every eve

But you are near me

I do believe
